Summer’s End

Another Santa Cruz summer is winding down.  The Labor Day parking wars are over.  Victors and vanquished have settled up and gone home.

Just before the best weather and warmest water arrive.  The East Coast summer running from Memorial Day to Labor Day rules the calendar but not the sun.  A local truth that creates local treasure.

Around these parts September means space on the beach.  The switching of the boardwalk from cartoon to backdrop.  A pier quiet enough to nap on.  Everything the sun worshipers of summer wanted.  A week after they left.  Oh well.

Please join me now for a late season trip to a Santa Cruz that didn’t exist in July and August.

You make me want to move there. Not very nice of you to torment us so.

    Nice place to visit….
Two shots of the pier from pretty much the same viewpoint is 1 too many. How come we couldn’t hear the guitar? Good seal shots for the animal lovers out there.
Better than some of the European and not as good as others.
