River of Light

Today’s clip is not the one we set out to get.  Our plans were more in the line of a beautiful sunset.  But circumstance conspired against us.  Or maybe not.

Six years ago I had taken a visiting niece to this vista point.  Like all tourists we shot dozens of pictures.  Unlike many of I imagined the bridge in other moods as I shot.

As our sunset plans fell into the ocean we turned the camera towards the only other light source.  This two minute clip is the middle of that much longer shot.  Fortune favoring the persistent.

If your internet connection will allow it help yourself to an even better view.  The higher the density and the larger the picture the better it will all look.  Absolutely popping out at you in full screen HD.  Of course, even the smallest version looks good.

I imagine the long version as a cityscape playing in the background of a dinner or party.  That’s just me.  For most of you it is a quick trip to a pretty and chilly corner of San Francisco Bay.

Except for niece Kim who has a picture of herself posed in the middle of the frame, six years ago.  For those of you who love a happy coincidence I would point out that last Saturday was also Kim’s birthday.   Wasn’t that just a little strange and kind of cool?

Please join me now at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge shortly after sunset.  Half way through the clip a boat comes under the bridge and a plane passes behind it on it’s way west.  The traffic is in a hurry to get somewhere but I think you will feel you have already arrived.  I did.
